Take to the Air

An introduction to local author Jason Blake's debut autobiographical story

"Sex, Drink and Yellow Fish".

Jason Blake, from Walton near Lutterworth comments:

"I just felt a compulsion to write this book there are a lot of laughs and more than a few mishaps on the way but that's life."

"Taken directly from my diaries and supported by letters, photos and friends (for the times I was too inebriated to remember).
This book was written in the summer of 1990, edited in 2008 and recalls my eighteenth year as I saw it at the time."

Jason will be at Waterstone's bookstore, The Square, Market Harborough

on the 18th & 19th July from 11am.

This youthful and exuberant account of love and alcohol will appeal to a broad spectrum of readers.

Beautifully drawn, we join in Jay's drunken escapades and follow as his best laid plans begin to unravel.

Jason draws on his own life experience as he encaptures what it is like to be 18 navigating the difficult path between love and alcohol.

The reader is instantly taken into Jay's world, getting to know his friends, and revisiting his old haunts in Leicester, like the Helsinki bar. Sit back and enjoy Jay's ride, as between hangovers, flairs of creativity and the desire to get drunk an unlikely friendship blurs into a life-changing relationship.

Through all the vodka and lime, lager and love the reader is taken on an engaging journey, discovering a young man's inner thoughts, hopes and dreams with some hysterical consequences.

Most importantly this book evokes what it is like to be 18 once again.

Radio Lutterworth was approached by Jason's publisher to see if we could provide some local publicity.

Following a successful launch signing at Borders, Grove Triangle, Leicester in May the book is beginning to receive fantastic reviews on on major websites including Amazon and waterstones.com.

We decided to provide that support via an audio introduction, read by one of our regular presenters.
